Camp Albright in Reed City, Michigan is built for community — whether you’re a church planning a weekend retreat, a family organizing a reunion, or a business looking for an off-site that actually refreshes your team.

Why Camp Albright

A Property Built for Bringing People Together

For over 100 years, this property in Reed City, Michigan has served as a place where groups gather, connections deepen, and communities are strengthened. Originally operated as a Methodist church camp, Camp Albright continues that legacy under new ownership with the same spirit of welcome and purpose.

With nearly 14 acres, lodging for large and small groups, flexible event spaces, riverfront access to the Hersey River, and a full slate of recreational activities — everything your group needs is already here.

Special Needs & Medically Fragile Families

Every Child Deserves the Joy of Camp

This is not simply a program category for Camp Albright — it is the reason Sheila and Brian Jacobson came to this property. Their years of loving and caring for medically fragile foster children, including their daughter Amari Grace, shaped a deep conviction: families carrying extraordinary responsibilities deserve a place to come, breathe, and experience the outdoors together.

Accessible Facilities

At least one entry door on all lodging facilities is accessible by ramp. We actively work to make the camp experience available to guests with mobility and physical challenges.

Nurse’s Cabin Availability

Our fully equipped Nurse’s Cabin with private bath, A/C, heat, living area, and flexible sleeping arrangements is an ideal home base for families traveling with medically complex children.

Nature as Restoration

The Hersey River, the open grounds, fire pits, and quiet spaces of Camp Albright are offered intentionally as places of rest and renewal for families who often carry more than most.

Grace Ministries Support

Through our non profit Grace Ministries at Camp Albright, our long-term goal is to provide fully sponsored camp stays no cost for special-needs and medically fragile children and their families.

Personal, Attentive Hospitality

Sheila and Brian personally understand the weight of caregiving. When families with extraordinary needs reach out, they are met with people who genuinely get it not just a booking form.

Future Adaptive Programming

Camp Albright is actively building toward dedicated programs, accommodations, and resources designed specifically for children with special needs. This vision is growing.

Church Groups & Retreats

A Sacred Space for Your Congregation to Go Deeper

Camp Albright was born from a faith community and continues to carry that DNA. Whether you’re planning a women’s retreat, a men’s camp weekend, a youth group lock-in, an all-church gathering, or a leadership planning retreat — our property offers the spiritual atmosphere and the practical facilities to make it happen.

The Tabernacle building with its wood floor seats up to 250 and is naturally suited for large group worship, teaching, and evening services. Pair it with our riverfront chapel or amphitheater for outdoor moments of prayer and reflection that no sanctuary can replicate.

Corporate Outings & Team Retreats

Step Outside the Office — Into Something That Actually Works

The best team-building doesn’t happen in conference rooms. Camp Albright gives corporate groups a genuine change of scenery — open air, natural surroundings, and activities that require real communication and trust — without the need to travel far from Reed City, Michigan.

The bunkhouse near the pool includes an attached meeting room, making it an excellent setting for breakout sessions and smaller leadership discussions. The Tabernacle can accommodate larger all-hands gatherings. And the full slate of activities — kayaking, archery, courts, and fire pit evenings — gives teams the kind of shared experience that sticks long after the day trip ends.

Youth Camps

Where Young Faith Gets Forged in the Outdoors

Camp has always been one of the most powerful tools in youth ministry. Sheila and Brian Jacobson built Camp Albright with this conviction at the center — both of their own children accepted Christ at church camp, and those moments changed their family’s trajectory forever.

Camp Albright’s property is set up for the high-energy, faith-filled rhythm of a great youth camp — from morning scripture time to afternoon kayaking to campfire worship under the stars. The activities, the spaces, and the atmosphere all work together to create the kind of week that kids remember for the rest of their lives.
